Frequently asked questions

  • Will a Personal Trainer really help?

Yes, working with a Personal Trainer will help you! Having guidance, support, structure and accountability when it comes to your physical activity is game-changing!

Consistency, as well as suitable work-outs for your fitness levels and goals, is what really helps individuals to see results.

Any body can attempt to exercise, but are you doing safe exercises that will help you get closer towards your goals? Are you receiving the right mix of activities to ensure you’re pushing your limits without overdoing it?

Over the years, we’ve had the honour of helping hundreds of busy women and time poor Mums enhance their physical, emotional and mental health.

But why take our word for it? Here’s what some of our happy clients have to say over on our testimonials

  • What is a ‘good’ Personal Trainer?

A good Personal Trainer has completed Certificates III and IV in Health and Fitness, and is registered with Fitness Australia.

But a GREAT Personal Trainer understands your needs and goals, and is fully committed to helping you achieve lasting results. Client experience is at one of our core values: When you work with a Vitalita Personal Trainer, your goal is our goal.

Whether you want to lose weight, tone up or bounce back after injury, we work with you to set and achieve short and long-term health and fitness goals. We do this by:

    • taking time to get to know you
    • using our expertise to plan and deliver fun, tailored workouts
    • assessing and tracking your progress so you can see far you’ve come
    • providing motivation, encouragement and accountability around the clock
    • actively listening to and taking on board feedback and suggestions for improvement
    • working with you to prevent and manage injuries and plateaus.

We are driven by your achievements: that look of relief and accomplishment at the end of a grueling session; newly found confidence; overcoming mental and physical limitations to achieve what you thought was impossible.

    Wellness at Work

Starting at $120, price will vary depending on session length, travel requirements and number of sessions booked. Find out more here.

  • Is it worth it to hire a Personal Trainer?

For every one of us, motivation fluctuates, energy levels waver and life gets busy. In these situations exercise is usually the first thing to drop off our daily schedule.

Clients tell us time and time again that the only reason why they stick to an exercise regime is because of the support they receive and accountability they’re offered, through PT.
A Personal Trainer is worth it if you value the health and wellness benefits remaining active brings to your life, and want to ensure you remain active and in good health throughout life’s ups and downs.

Those that view personal training as an expense tend to view it as a ‘luxury’ and fail to focus on all the benefits regular exercise provides.
Personal Training isn’t a luxury. It’s an investment in your health, adding immense value, health and vitality to your life.

  • What can I expect during my first session?

    Consultation and screening

Before your first session we will meet to undertake a comprehensive screening of your:

      • medical conditions and medication
      • injuries
      • lifestyle and nutritional habits
      • health, fitness and wellness goals.

We will assess your capability through simple strength and fitness tests and, depending on the package or program you purchased, we may also take core measurements (height and weight). This is also your chance to get to know your trainer, ask them questions and raise any fears or concerns you may have.

    Personal Training sessions

Ranging from 30-60 minutes, no two personal training sessions are the same.

To extend your range of motion and help you get the most benefit from the session, your trainer may start with dynamic stretching or trigger point therapy.

A typical session includes a combination of exercises designed to improve cardio fitness, muscular endurance and flexibility. We will challenge you; encouraging you to move beyond your comfort zone. We will modify the workout as we go depending on your ability and energy levels. Don’t be surprised if your trainer gives you homework, such as a food diary to complete, or stretches to do independently.

We don’t take ourselves too seriously and neither should you; laughter is a vital part of all sessions!

  • Do you offer private health fund rebates?

Many health funds recognise the health benefits of personal training and, depending on your level of cover, you may be eligible for a rebate.

As each private health fund has its own claim process, inclusions and potential rebate amounts, please contact your provider to determine whether you are eligible for a rebate, and what you need to do to make a claim.

If you require a tax invoice, please let us know.

  • What type of clients do you work with?

We work with a wide range of people.

Our youngest client is 16 and the oldest is 74 but age is irrelevant if you are 100% committed. Most clients train once or twice per week. Others book fortnightly or monthly sessions.

  • Can I still train with you if I have injuries or health issues?

YES. We firmly believe movement is for everyBODY and, whatever your age, size or physical ability, we look forward to working with you.

We will discuss any medical conditions and injuries at the initial consultation. It is important that I am aware of these conditions so I can train you safely. If you have serious health condition you will need to obtain medical clearance before we commence.

  • Can you help me with nutrition?

    YES.

Whether you want to lose weight or gain muscle, exercise and nutrition go hand in hand. While our Personal Trainers are not qualified dieticians or nutritionists, we have studied nutrition for weight management and muscle gain. We work closely with Clinical Nutritionist Zoe Morosini to:

    • help you understand your lifestyle and eating habits
    • assess whether you are eating sufficient vitamins and minerals to achieve your goals and ensure your body is working at optimum capacity
    • calculate your ideal calorie intake (depending on your goals)
    • recommend changes to portion sizes and/or healthy substitutions.

We won’t encourage you to eliminate whole food groups or try to sell you expensive supplements. We focus on food that is as close to its natural state as possible: loads of fruit and veg; high-quality protein; limited processed foods; alcohol and sweets in moderation.

  • How soon can I expect to see results?

Fast fixes rarely work. We are committed to helping you achieve realistic, sustainable results. Depending on your goal and how often you train, you will start to feel different (eg. increased energy and confidence; improved concentration) after two weeks, and see visible changes in as little as four weeks. To maximise results, we recommend training at least three times per week (either with us or independently).

  • Can my friend and I train together?

    YES.

We often train small groups of 2-3 people. As a little more pre-planning is required, we charge an additional $5 per session.

  • Do I have to join a gym?

    NO.

We can come to your home, office or a nearby park, saving you time and money. We have clients across Brisbane CBD and northern suburbs, including:

    • Albany Creek
    • Ascot
    • Aspley
    • Banyo

  • What equipment do I need?

Comfortable clothing, a supportive pair of sports shoes, towel and a drink bottle. We provide, set up and pack away all the equipment we will need for each session. If you have equipment that you would like to use, that’s ok too.

If you are looking to purchase equipment for use at home, we can provide recommendations to meet your needs and budget.
