We want more of that!

Who we are

Hi! We’re Sam and Georgina the Founders of Vitalita Health & Fitness

We’re a husband and wife duo who are passionate about health, wellness and feeling good.

We met in Egypt, got married in London and now call the Sunshine Coast home. ⁣Food is the bond which glues us together and laughter is the thing that stops us from killing each other.

While we’ve always been active, we haven’t always been dedicated to health and wellness. Living it up in London for almost a decade, the long hours, late nights and free flowing booze took their toll.

We have a shared passion for helping people feel vibrant – inside and out!

After tying the knot in 2011 and moving back to Australia, it was as if someone flicked a switch. Inspired by the sunshine, we traded pub crawls for beach walks, and cheese platters for homemade yoghurt. We haven’t looked back since and love helping others reach their full potential and feel their best selves, day in and day out.

We also have two fabulous team members: Rachael and Uale.

So much so that we named our company Vitalità which is the Italian word for ‘vitality’.

We believe wellness is multi-faceted; it’s about so much more than just looking good, which is why you won’t find us promoting ‘bikini body’ workouts or training clients in preparation to compete.

Sam

VITALITA CO-FOUNDER

Hi, I’m Sam, personal trainer and tennis nut!

I want to help you look and feel your best (and have a ridiculously good time doing so!)

Although I was actively involved with sport and fitness in my youth, a decade of overindulgence in Europe and a career as a commercial electrician left me with persistent lower back pain, gastrointestinal trouble and a bit of a beer belly.

My return to Australia in 2012 reignited my desire to live an active and healthy life.

I headed back to the gym, shedding 8kg in just under four months. I thought that if I could shape up and feel that good, then anyone could. I traded my electrical tools for textbooks and went back to TAFE.

Now, I’m on a mission to help women transform their lives by helping them to see and feel that their bodies and minds can work for them in the most optimal way. AND, I believe it is actually possible to get fit, active and healthy whilst having a ridiculously good time!

I feel energised when I get up in the morning because I’m excited about what I do. I love working with women who are READY TO CHANGE. And when I see the results in those I work with – their health, happiness and confidence – well, that’s all the assurance I need that I am living my life ON PURPOSE.

Whether you want to lose weight, tone up or bounce back after injury, I am committed to working with you to set and achieve your short and long-term health and fitness goals.

I am driven by your achievements: that look of relief and accomplishment at the end of a grueling session; newly found confidence; overcoming mental and physical limitations to achieve what you thought was impossible.

Georgina

VITALITA CO-FOUNDER

Hi, my name is Georgina. I’m a women’s wellness coach and teacher of mindful movement and meditation.

I believe vitality is our natural state, and I’m dedicated to supporting as many women as possible to live as their most vital selves!

I’m a corporate climber turned women’s wellness warrior and, never in a million years did I think this is how my life would turn out!

A born and bred overachiever, I pursued academic success at the expense of everything else in my life. After university, I travelled the well-worn corporate path, seeking out more responsibility, more money and more opportunities to advance my career because… that’s what you’re supposed to do, right?

Fast forward to burnout and what I thought was a heart attack, followed by a diagnosis of anxiety and depression. My whole world crumbled – I couldn’t work, I struggled to find joy, and on some days, I couldn’t even get out of bed.

My breakdown was the wake-up call I needed and I am profoundly grateful for the lessons I learned when I hit rock bottom:

That life lived at warp speed isn’t truly living.

It’s unfulfilling and unsustainable and, when I was well enough to start earning a living again, I knew things had to change!

Yoga, meditation and mindfulness were vital to my recovery; these practices fostered mental and emotional resilience, taught me to savour the present moment; and replenished my innate curiosity and lust for life.

Now, as a Women’s Life and Wellness coach and yoga teacher, I’m in the driver’s seat and am able to work and live in a way that is nourishing, supports my wellbeing and aligns with my values. I understand that busyness is not a badge of honour so, when my calendar is bursting at the seams and exhaustion starts creeping in, I am able to recognise the warning signs and take steps to redress the balance.

The most joyful part is that my journey led me to a ‘job’ that sets my soul on fire. As someone who pushed herself to the brink and found her way home, it’s my passion in this life to help other high-achieving women do the same, so that they too can live a life brimming with wellness and joy.

A life-long student, I am always looking for opportunities to expand my knowledge and experience.

Hi, I’m Rachael… but you can call me Rach!

A healthy lifestyle should never feel like a bore or a chore so I’m here to help you enjoy your fitness journey. Let’s make fitness fun again!

I’ve always known I wasn’t suited to working in an office.

Sitting still isn’t in my DNA… I’ve always got to be doing something and my career choices have reflected this urge: Lifeguard and Swim instructor, Zoo Keeper (truly!) and, now, Personal Trainer.

Sport and fitness – including 10+ years as a competitive swimmer – have shaped who I am today, and I couldn’t imagine a life without movement. Now I get to share that passion with you!

I love working with people to help them reach their goals. No matter how big or small your goal: If it’s important to you, it’s important to me.

A healthy lifestyle should never feel like a bore or a chore!

I believe workouts should be both challenging and fun. I work hard to create a positive training environment, providing you with the support and encouragement you need to achieve things you didn’t even know were possible. If you leave a session feeling tired but smiling, I’m stoked!

PERSONAL TRAINER

Hi, I’m Uale, pronounced Wah-lay.

As a fitness professional, I’m here to help you level up! I want to help you use exercise and healthy lifestyle to become the best version of yourself.

An active participant in school sport, that all fell away when I started working as an accountant in the city.

For 15 years, I was the stereotypical corporate drone: late nights, long lunches, too many post-work drinks and too few work outs, lazy weekends. Rinse and repeat. My health had deteriorated, I was bored and the thought of another 30 years chained to a desk was absolutely unbearable. I craved variety, growth and purpose.

As a Personal Trainer, every day is different and there is endless scope for personal and professional development. As a bonus, I’ve got more time (and energy) to train which supports my mental wellbeing, provides clarity and focus, and keeps me inspired. Right now, I’ve got my sight set on running my first marathon.

Health and fitness is a lifelong pursuit and, as such, I believe exercise can and should be fun. I strive to create a positive training environment so you too can experience the joy and benefits of moving your body.

Using a variety of techniques and equipment to help maximise fitness, strength and mobility, I will challenge you but will never ask you to do anything I’m not prepared to do myself. I get a real buzz from helping people change their lives and the biggest compliment you can give me is a smile at the end of your session.
